Morning Song – Soul Station

August 5, 2017

Is there no end to great Blue Note records from the early 1960s? (Answer: we hope so!)

Here’s the smooth, melodic, and criminally overlooked hard bop pioneer and tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley with the title cut from his 1960 album, Soul Station…and with a rhythm section of Wynton Kelly (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Art Blakey (drums). (Be still, my heart.)

Enjoy.
