Morning Song – Lord Don’t Forget About Me

June 25, 2017

One of Jesus’ parables was, at least as the author of the Gospel of Luke understood it, “about the necessity for (his followers) to pray always without becoming weary” (Luke 18: 1). Depending on where you want to place the focus, it’s called “The Parable Of The Unjust Judge” or “The Parable Of The Persistent Widow”.

It’s about a corrupt judge who decides to render a just decision in a case involving a poor woman “because this widow keeps bothering me” (Luke 8:5).

If that widow sang, she’d sound like Dorothy Love Coates in “Lord Don’t Forget About Me”—desperate, fierce, commanding, indomitable.
