Morning Song – All The Way
A few observations about Eddie Vedder’s “All The Way”:
- The video is a startlingly graphic representation of Chicago’s history of residential segregation.
- It’s just one more in an endless stream of reasons for Cubs’ fans to be grateful to Ernie Banks.
- It only took a decade from the time Vedder wrote the song—and 108 years since the last time it happened—but today is “someday”.
“And when the day comes for that last winning run,
And I’m crying and covered in beer;
I look to the sky and know I was right today,
Someday we’ll go all the way;
Yeah, someday we’ll go all the way.”
Congratulations, Cubs fans.
