Morning Song – Soul In 3/4

June 4, 2016

Milt Jackson could do this all night long.

Starting in the mid-1950s, in addition to keeping up with the Modern Jazz Quartet’s extensive touring and recording schedule, Jackson would drop into a recording studio a few days each year and come out with albums filled with gems like “Soul in 3/4”.

This is from his 1956 album, Jackson’sville, featuring saxophonist Lucky Thompson.

Enjoy.
