Morning Song – Veni Sancte Spiritus

May 15, 2016

For many Christians today is the feast of Pentecost, a celebration of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the early followers of Jesus in the weeks after his death.

“Veni Sancte Spiritus” (Come, Holy Spirit) is one of Jacques Berthier’s signature chants written for the Taizé community: a remarkable ecumenical monastic order of brothers with a ministry—particularly to young adults—of prayer, ecumenism and reconciliation.

Come from the four winds, O Spirit, come breath of God;

Disperse the shadows over us, renew and strengthen your people.

Veni Sancte Spiritus

Happy Pentecost.
