Morning Song – I Got Rhythm

March 26, 2016

With the notable exception of the 12-bar blues, the Gershwin brothers’ “I Got Rhythm” is arguably the single most influential song in 20th century jazz. The song’s chord progression became known as the “rhythm changes” and bebop artists like Charlie Parker used and reused it endlessly.  Here’s Parker playing the song itself.

Enjoy.
