Morning Song – Order My Steps

June 10, 2012

Some gospel songs are about the “who” of faith (Jesus), the “when” of faith (conversion songs), the “why” of faith.  “Order My Steps” is about the “how” of faith.

“Satan is busy.”  “The world is ever changing.”

The singer is troubled, confused, overwhelmed…but not lost.  She knows where to go for help and what kind of help to ask for.  How do I walk right, talk right, think right, do right in a world of trouble and turmoil?

In this clip, Mimi Redd wrings every ounce of desperation—and faith—from Glenn Burleigh’s lyrics:  “Let the words of my mouth be acceptable in thy sight…. Please order my steps in your word.”
